1What is in the pass
- Timed exams, as many as you want. Each one is 120 questions in 4 hours, drawn across Pearson VUE's content areas, 80 general items in the outline's counts and 40 Wyoming items inside each range the Wyoming outline gives, with questions you have not seen yet served first. You get your score by content area against a 75% study target; the Wyoming Real Estate Commission publishes no passing score.
- Practice by topic. Pick any of the 8 national content areas or a Wyoming area, or the questions you missed last time. The right answer and the reason appear as soon as you answer.
- Wyoming questions with their law cited. 122 questions on Wyoming rules: who needs a license and the exemptions, applications and examinations, renewal and continuing education, inactive licenses and transfers, the Commission's censure, suspension and revocation, the responsible broker and the real estate company, trust accounts, advertising, errors and omissions insurance, seller's and buyer's agents, the intermediary and relationship disclosures, the recovery account, broker's price opinions, the statute of frauds, residential rental deposits, foreclosure by advertisement and redemption, and more. Each explanation names the Wyoming Statutes section (W.S.) or Real Estate Commission rule it comes from, with the date it was read.
- National questions to the outline. 400 questions on the principles every state tests, weighted to Pearson VUE's national content outline, down to each sub-topic. They include the 80 on the free practice exam.
- Your weak topics, tracked. Every answer is recorded in your browser, so the app can show your accuracy by topic and send you back to the areas below the study target.

Pearson VUE's Wyoming outlines give the general portion as 80 scored items across eight areas and the Wyoming portion of the salesperson exam as 40 scored items, each Wyoming area as a range (2-5, 7-9, 15-17 and 11-13 items, in the outline effective January 1, 2021). The timed exam here draws the 80 general items in the outline's counts and the 40 Wyoming items as 4, 8, 16 and 12, this site's own split inside those ranges, and runs the two portions as one timed exam in the combined time the handbook gives them. The real exam also carries 5 general and 5 to 10 Wyoming pretest items that are not scored. Land descriptions are not asked: no Wyoming statute or rule on them was read.

2How the Wyoming salesperson exam works
- Two portions. The salesperson exam has a national portion of eighty (80) scored items and a Wyoming portion of forty (40) scored items for salesperson candidates, plus five (5) pretest items on the national portion and five to ten (5-10) pretest items on the Wyoming portion that do not count. Candidates have 2.5 hours to complete the national section and 1.5 hours to complete the state portion.
- Passing score. The Commission, with Pearson VUE, set a passing score of 75 on each portion, a scaled score that is neither the number nor the percentage of questions answered correctly, so the timed exams here score you against a study target instead.
- Retakes. If you pass one part and fail the other, only the part failed needs to be retaken, but the failed part must be passed within six (6) months of the first passed portion. Once both portions of the exam have been passed, an application must be submitted within 90 days.
- Fee. Each portion costs $80 at a test center.

3A sample Wyoming question
This is one of the Wyoming questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
Under the Commission's rules, which of the following is a ground for disciplinary action against a licensee?
- Paying a licensed personal assistant a salary directly
- A responsible broker paying earned compensation to an LLC solely owned by a licensee working under him
- Paying a referral fee to a licensed broker of another state who conducts no real estate activity in Wyoming
- Assisting in a transaction in which all parties are customers and no written agency or intermediary relationship is established
Answer and explanation
Answer D: Assisting in a transaction in which all parties are customers and no written agency or intermediary relationship is established
The rules list as a ground for discipline participating, engaging or assisting in a transaction where every party is a customer and no written agency or intermediary relationship exists. The other three choices are expressly permitted. A licensee may pay a personal assistant a salary, and payment to a solely licensee-owned LLC is not treated as paying an unlicensed person. A nonresident broker who conducts no Wyoming activity may also be paid.
