This page is independent of any school or brokerage. Requirements change (the Commission's pages are the versions read on the date shown and its application instructions and forms are the Google Drive documents those pages link; the course outlines are the Commission's September 2018 document and Pearson VUE's handbook is its July 2024 edition, which does not print an exam fee, so none is stated here), so each section names the official page it was read from and the date. If a figure below disagrees with the Commission's page today, the board is right and this page is stale: the date tells you how stale.

4How long it takes to become a real estate agent in Wyoming
The fixed parts are three courses at the providers' pace, one Pearson VUE sitting of four hours, and an application within 90 days of the last exam date; the Commission publishes no typical processing time on the pages read for this guide. Those parts come from the Commission's own pages and documents and the exam vendor's handbook, not a school's marketing:

- Exam: 2.5 hours for the national portion and 1.5 for the Wyoming portion at a Pearson VUE centre.

You need a scaled score of 75 on each portion to pass. An official score report is issued at the test centre and goes in with the application within 90 days. | Content area | Share of questions |
|---|---|
| National portion | about 67% |
| Wyoming state portion | about 33% |

6Reciprocity: already licensed in another state?
By a shortened route for active licensees. An applicant with an active licence in another state submits fingerprint cards, completes only the Wyoming Law and Salesperson II courses, passes the Wyoming state portion of the exam and files the application with the same $300 fee; a Colorado FA licence maps to salesperson in Wyoming, and licence histories from every state are required.

7Renewal and continuing education
The licence runs three years, on the Commission's renewal cycle. To renew you complete 45 clock hours of approved continuing education within the licence period.
First renewal: the same 45 hours in the first three-year cycle; the pages read for this guide state no first-cycle exemption.
Later renewals: 45 hours of continuing education in each three-year cycle, 24 hours in required courses and 21 elective, with the Wyoming Broker Management course counting toward electives; the renewal fee was not printed on the pages read for this guide, and renewals are filed through the Commission's online account.

8How much real estate agents make in Wyoming
The only independent, dated wage figure for agents is the Bureau of Labor Statistics' occupational survey. For Wyoming, release May 2025:
| Wyoming, real estate sales agents | Annual wage |
|---|---|
| 25th percentile | $30,940 |
| Median | $49,990 |
| 75th percentile | $62,930 |
| Agents counted by BLS in the state | 300 |
BLS counts agents paid as employees and reports wages, not the commissions of self-employed agents, so these are a floor for the occupation rather than what a typical commissioned agent takes home.

9After the licence: choosing a brokerage in Wyoming
A new salesperson licence is only usable under a broker, so the next decision is which brokerage. On September 5, 2026, 554 Wyoming agents had a published brokerage profile; the largest single company was RE/MAX with 127 of them, and the largest brand was RE/MAX with 127. Realty Census, which counts those profiles, also compares the brokerages a new Wyoming agent can join, including which ones publish their commission split: see which Wyoming brokerages publish their pay plan.

10Pre-licence schools in Wyoming
The Commission approves the pre-licensing providers and lists them alphabetically on its licence page without endorsing any, showing which of Salesperson I, Salesperson II and Wyoming Law each offers and whether in person or online. The list is at the Commission's obtain-a-license page.
This page carries no affiliate links. If a schools page for Wyoming is added with affiliate links, it will say so at the top, and schools will be ordered by what the state publishes or alphabetically, never by commission.
