1What is in the pass
- Timed exams, as many as you want. Each one is 140 questions in 240 minutes, drawn across Pearson VUE's ten Wisconsin content areas in the scored item counts its outline gives, with questions you have not seen yet served first. You get your score by content area against a 75% study target; the Wisconsin Real Estate Examining Board publishes no passing score.
- Practice by topic. Pick any of the 8 national content areas or a Wisconsin area, or the questions you missed last time. The right answer and the reason appear as soon as you answer.
- Wisconsin questions with their law cited. 130 questions on Wisconsin rules: joint tenancy and tenancy in common, the duties a firm owes to parties and clients, multiple representation relationships and designated agency, the disclosure of duties statement, the real estate condition report and the right to rescind, approved forms and legal advice, written proposals, advertising, net listings, tie-in arrangements, open housing, the Sherman Act, trust accounts and earnest money, and fee splitting, and more. Each explanation names the Wisconsin Statutes section or Real Estate Examining Board rule it comes from, with the date it was read.
- National questions to the outline. 400 questions on the principles every state tests, weighted to Pearson VUE's national content outline, down to each sub-topic. They include the 80 on the free practice exam.
- Your weak topics, tracked. Every answer is recorded in your browser, so the app can show your accuracy by topic and send you back to the areas below the study target.

Pearson VUE's Wisconsin outline gives the salesperson exam as one exam of 140 scored items in ten Wisconsin content areas (14, 5, 20, 32, 13, 22, 14, 6, 2 and 12), plus 5 to 10 unscored pretest items. A full timed exam here draws the scored items in those counts, in the handbook's 4-hour time limit. General questions (ownership, financing, appraisal, math, contracts) come from the national bank, each counted toward the Wisconsin area that covers it. The approved WB forms themselves (listing contracts, offers to purchase, counter-offers) are not quoted; questions on forms come from the Board's rules on approved forms. Passages of chapter 452 amended by 2025 Wisconsin Act 69 effective January 1, 2027 are not asked.

2How the Wisconsin salesperson exam works
- One exam. The salesperson exam is one Wisconsin exam of 140 scored items plus 5-10 pretest items that do not count, with a time limit of 4 hours.
- Passing score. On a converted scale of 0-100, a passing score of 75 was set by the DSPS with Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE says the scaled score is neither the number of questions answered correctly nor the percentage of questions answered correctly, so the timed exams here score you against a study target instead.
- Retakes. If you fail, you must wait 24 hours before making a reservation to retake an exam.
- Fee. The salesperson exam fee is $65.

3A sample Wisconsin question
This is one of the Wisconsin questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
Under Wisconsin law, an agency agreement is a written agreement between:
- A firm and a client
- A salesperson and a client, personally
- The listing firm and a cooperating firm
- The buyer and the seller
Answer and explanation
Answer A: A firm and a client
An agency agreement is a written agreement in which a client authorizes a firm to provide brokerage services to the client. The parties are the firm and the client. The salesperson does not personally hold the agency agreement; the salesperson provides services on behalf of the firm with which he or she is associated.
