1What is in the pass
- Timed exams, as many as you want. Each one is 130 questions in 4 hours, with the national portion drawn across Pearson VUE's eight national content areas in the salesperson item counts and the state portion in the item counts of Pearson VUE's Nebraska outline, so a full timed exam is 80 national and 50 state questions, with questions you have not seen yet served first. You get your score against the 75% pass line and a score for each portion, since each portion is passed separately.
- Practice by topic. Pick any of the 8 national content areas or a Nebraska area, or the questions you missed last time. The right answer and the reason appear as soon as you answer.
- Nebraska questions with their law cited. 121 questions on Nebraska rules: the commission's powers and discipline, who needs a license and who is exempt, unlicensed assistants, branch offices, continuing education, errors and omissions insurance, the unfair trade practices, advertising and teams, trust accounts and earnest money, written offers, closings, limited agency and dual agency, the brokerage relationship disclosure, the seller property condition disclosure statement, subdivided land and fair housing, and more. Each explanation names the Nebraska Revised Statutes section or Commission rule (299 NAC) it comes from, with the date it was read.
- National questions to the outline. 400 questions on the principles every state tests, weighted to Pearson VUE's national content outline, down to each sub-topic. They include the 80 on the free practice exam.
- Your weak topics, tracked. Every answer is recorded in your browser, so the app can show your accuracy by topic and send you back to the areas below the pass line.

Pearson VUE's Nebraska outlines give the national portion as 80 scored items in eight areas (salesperson counts) and the state portion as 50 scored items: 5, 7 to 8, 15, 17 to 18 and 5. A full timed exam here draws 80 national questions and 50 state questions in those counts, taking 7 licensing and 18 agency items (the outline allows 7 or 8 and 17 or 18); you can also time each portion on its own.

2How the Nebraska salesperson exam works
- Two portions. The salesperson exam has a national portion of 80 scored items in 2.5 hours and a state portion of 50 scored items in 1.5 hours, 4 hours in all, plus 5 to 10 pretest items that are not scored.
- Passing score. The passing score required on each examination is 75%; you receive a score for each part.
- Retakes. A salesperson who passes one portion may retake the failed one for three (3) subsequent attempts or six months, or until the license application expires, whichever comes first; after that, the full exam again.

3A sample Nebraska question
This is one of the Nebraska questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
A seller's agent gives an unrepresented buyer the required written disclosure stating that the agent represents the seller. The buyer refuses to sign the acknowledgment. What must the licensee do?
- Note that fact on a copy of the disclosure and retain the copy
- Stop working with the buyer until the buyer signs
- Report the refusal to the commission
- Have the designated broker sign the acknowledgment in place of the buyer
Answer and explanation
Answer A: Note that fact on a copy of the disclosure and retain the copy
If a customer fails or refuses to sign the brokerage relationship disclosure, the licensee notes that fact on a copy of the disclosure and keeps the copy. The law does not require the licensee to stop working with the customer. It does not require a report to the commission. A substitute signature by the designated broker is not a remedy the law provides.
