Pearson VUE's Delaware outlines give the national portion as 80 scored items across eight areas and the Delaware portion as 40 scored items across four areas (4, 3, 17 and 16). The real exam also carries 5 national and 10 Delaware pretest items. Pearson VUE reports a scaled score, so the timed exam here is not split into separately scored portions; it draws the scored items in those counts, in the handbook's four-hour time limit. Code sections whose new versions take effect in 2027 or later are quoted in the version in force now, and the outline's survey, wastewater, sign, tax ditch, manufactured housing, UETA, consumer fraud, home inspector and green energy topics are not asked.

2How the Delaware salesperson exam works
- Two parts, one sitting. The salesperson exam has a national part of eighty (80) scored items plus five (5) pretest items and a Delaware part of forty (40) scored items plus 10 pretest items. Candidates have four (4) hours to complete the examination.
- Passing score. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100, With a passing score of 70. Pearson VUE says the scaled score is not the number or the percentage of questions answered correctly, so the timed exams here score you against a study target instead.
- Retakes. Candidates who fail need retake only the portion of the examination they failed, within one (1) year of completing the required pre-licensing education; anyone who cannot pass both parts in 3 or less attempts must retake the pre-licensing course.
- Fee. The examination fee is $88.

3A sample Delaware question
This is one of the Delaware questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
Under the Delaware real estate licensing law, the term licensee refers to an individual licensed as which of the following?
- A broker or a brokerage organization
- A broker, associate broker or salesperson
- A salesperson or a property manager
- Any person, including a corporation, that provides real estate services
Answer and explanation
Answer B: A broker, associate broker or salesperson
Delaware defines a licensee as an individual licensed as a broker, associate broker or salesperson. The term does not imply any particular legal relationship with a customer or client. A brokerage organization is not licensed, so the option that includes it is wrong. Corporations are also excluded, because only individuals hold licenses.
