- Washington questions with their law cited. 130 questions on Washington rules: the director's and the commission's powers, hearings and sanctions, who needs a license and who is exempt, license renewal, continuing education and inactive status, designated brokers and managing brokers, termination of affiliation, trust accounts and the next-banking-day deposit rule, records, advertising, the grounds for discipline, compensation only through the firm, seller's agents, buyer's agents and limited dual agents, the brokerage pamphlet and imputed knowledge, and more. Each explanation names the Revised Code of Washington section (RCW 18.85, 18.86, 18.235) or Department of Licensing rule (WAC 308-124 to 308-124E) it comes from, with the date it was read.

PSI's Washington bulletin gives the national portion as 100 items with a share of the exam for each content area (so the shares are item counts) and the state portion's broker questions by area: General Rules 4-5, Licensing Requirements 8, Statutes and Rules Governing Licensee Activity 13 and Brokerage Relationships 4-5. A timed exam here draws the national items in those counts and the Washington questions with 4 on general rules and 5 on agency (the two ranges must add to 9), in the two portions' times added together. The real exam also carries unscored experimental questions; the timed exam here draws only the scored items.

2How the Washington broker exam works
- Two portions. The broker exam has a national portion of 100 items in 150 minutes and a state portion of thirty (30) questions for Broker candidates in 90 minutes. PSI may add a small number (5 to 10) of experimental questions that are not scored but count against examination time.
- Passing score. To pass each portion you must attain a scaled score of 70. The bulletin says The scaled score is not the same as a percentage, so the timed exams here score you against a study target instead.
- Retakes. If you fail, You will only be required to repeat the portion(s) that you failed.
- Fee. PSI charges $210 for the broker examination.

3A sample Washington question
This is one of the Washington questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
A seller's listed property goes under contract. Regarding efforts to find other buyers, the seller's agent:
- Must keep actively seeking additional offers until closing
- Must refuse to present any further offers
- May seek additional offers only with the buyer's written consent
- Is not obligated to seek additional offers while the property is under the existing contract
Answer and explanation
Answer D: Is not obligated to seek additional offers while the property is under the existing contract
A seller's agent generally must make a good faith and continuous effort to find a buyer. That obligation does not require seeking additional offers while the property is subject to an existing contract for sale. The agent is simply not obligated to look for more offers. Refusing to present offers is wrong, because any written offers that do come in must still be presented in a timely manner.
