1What is in the pass
- Timed exams, as many as you want. Each one is 140 questions in 210 minutes, with 100 national questions in the shares of PSI's national outline and 40 Vermont law questions across the areas of the Vermont statute and rules, with questions you have not seen yet served first. You get your score by content area against a 70% study target; the Vermont Real Estate Commission publishes no passing score.
- Practice by topic. Pick any of the 8 national content areas or a Vermont area, or the questions you missed last time. The right answer and the reason appear as soon as you answer.
- Vermont questions with their law cited. 129 questions on Vermont rules: who needs a license, examinations and renewal, unprofessional conduct, broker supervision, designated agency and the mandatory consumer disclosure, seller and buyer service agreements, advertising, compensation and records, trust accounts, fair housing and security deposits, and more. Each explanation names the Vermont statute (V.S.A.) or Vermont Real Estate Commission rule it comes from, with the date it was read.
- National questions to the outline. 400 questions on the principles every state tests, weighted to Pearson VUE's national content outline, down to each sub-topic. They include the 80 on the free practice exam.
- Your weak topics, tracked. Every answer is recorded in your browser, so the app can show your accuracy by topic and send you back to the areas below the study target.

Vermont licenses salespersons on two exams. PSI gives the national exam (its question count, time and passing score are in the PSI bulletin facts on this page), and its outline sets the national shares used here. Since February 27, 2021 the Vermont state exam has been given by the Office of Professional Regulation inside the initial license application, not by an exam service, and its format is not published where this site could read it. So the timed exam here is our practice format: PSI's national questions in their shares plus a Vermont law part whose question count, areas and time are Agent Licenses' own choice (grouped from the Vermont statute and rules), with no pass mark implied for that part.

- State exam. The Vermont state exam will now be administered by the Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) as part of the initial application process, and There will be no fee for the State Exam other than the ordinary application fee.

3A sample Vermont question
This is one of the Vermont questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
Before her license expires, a salesperson requests that it be placed on inactive status and pays the transfer fee. What continuing education must she complete to become inactive?
- No continuing education is needed to become inactive
- All continuing education hours required for renewal
- Only the four hours in the subject designated by the Commission
- Any remaining post-licensure education hours
Answer and explanation
Answer A: No continuing education is needed to become inactive
A licensee may request inactive status before expiration by paying the transfer fee. No continuing education is needed to become inactive. The four designated hours and post-licensure education are renewal requirements, not conditions of going inactive.
