1What is in the pass
- Timed exams, as many as you want. Each one is 120 questions in 240 minutes, with the general portion drawn across Pearson VUE's eight national content areas in the salesperson item counts and the state portion in the salesperson shares of Pearson VUE's Nevada outline, so a full timed exam is 80 general and 40 state questions, with questions you have not seen yet served first. You get your score against the 75% pass line and a score for each portion, since each portion is passed separately.
- Practice by topic. Pick any of the 8 national content areas or a Nevada area, or the questions you missed last time. The right answer and the reason appear as soon as you answer.
- Nevada questions with their law cited. 126 questions on Nevada rules: the Commission's discipline and the recovery fund, license types and renewal, notices to the Division, the duties every licensee owes and the extra duties to a client, consent to act and confirmation of the agency relationship, advertising and team names, broker price opinions, trust money and deposits, the Seller's Real Property Disclosure form, common-interest community resales, disclosure of a licensee's interest, brokerage agreements, offers, advance fees, records, time-share cancellation, water rights and solar energy systems, and more. Each explanation names the Nevada Revised Statutes or Nevada Administrative Code section it comes from, with the date it was read.
- National questions to the outline. 400 questions on the principles every state tests, weighted to Pearson VUE's national content outline, down to each sub-topic. They include the 80 on the free practice exam.
- Your weak topics, tracked. Every answer is recorded in your browser, so the app can show your accuracy by topic and send you back to the areas below the pass line.

Pearson VUE's Nevada outlines give the general portion as 80 scored items in eight areas (salesperson counts) and the state portion as 40 scored items for salesperson candidates, with each state area given as a share of the salesperson exam (the shares in the table above). A full timed exam here draws 80 general questions in those counts and 40 state questions in those shares (rounded to whole questions), in the handbook's time for each portion; you can also time each portion on its own.

2How the Nevada salesperson exam works
- Two portions. The salesperson exam has a general (national) portion of eighty (80) scored items in 150 minutes and a state portion of forty (40) scored items for salesperson candidates in 90 minutes, each with five to ten (5-10) pretest items that are not scored.
- Passing score. The handbook reports a percent score: You need to answer 75% of questions correctly in order to pass the examination. If you pass one part and fail the other, you need to retake only the failed part within twelve (12) months.
- Fee. Pearson VUE lists $100 for the salesperson combination and for each portion; The cost for each retake is the same as the initial examination.

3A sample Nevada question
This is one of the Nevada questions in the pass, shown with its explanation and the law it comes from.
A seller signs an exclusive agency listing agreement. During the term, the seller's neighbor buys the home after dealing only with the seller. No broker or other person was involved. Does the listing broker have an expectation of receiving compensation?
- Yes, because the property sold during the term of the listing
- Yes, but only half of the agreed commission
- No, because the neighbor was not specifically exempted in writing
- No, because the property was sold solely through the efforts of the seller
Answer and explanation
Answer D: No, because the property was sold solely through the efforts of the seller
Under an exclusive agency listing agreement, the broker expects compensation when the property sells during the term, unless the sale occurs solely through the seller's own efforts. Here the seller alone produced the buyer, so the broker has no expectation of compensation. The first option describes an exclusive right to sell listing, under which a sale by the seller still earns the broker compensation.
